IPL Skin Rejuvenation

How Intense Pulsed Light Skin Rejuvenation Works
Intense pulsed light is also known as IPL. This is a treatment that uses intense pulses of light to treat:
- Ageing, spots and tired skin.
- Open pores.
- Fine lines and wrinkles.
- Pigmentation, sun damage and freckles.
- Acne and corse skin texture.
- Roseacea
- Hair on face, neck, back, chest, legs, under-arm or bikini line.
How to prepare for treatment
Before your IPL procedure your practitioner will recommend that you avoid certain activities, medications and other products two weeks prior to your procedure such as:
Direct sunlight
Tanning beds
Fake Tan
Waxing
Chemical Peels
Collagen Injections
Medication that increase bleeding risks
What to expect during the procedure
The pulses are more comfortable and quicker than laser eye.
A warm tingling sensation is the most common feeling during an IPL treatment.
However, the exact feeling will depend on the individual and the treatment area. After the treatment some people experience a slight reddening (Erythema) and warming of the skin, especially on the more sensitive parts of the body. This can be calmed by using aloe vera or an SPF moisturising cream.
